Theoretical physicist working on applications of machine learning and network theory in the many-body problem.

Dr. Roberto Verdel Aranda studied Physics at the Metropolitan Autonomous University in Mexico City, Mexico. After his bachelor’s degree, he pursued an Erasmus Mundus Master in the field of Atomistic and Molecular Simulations (AtoSiM 2.0), based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Rome, Italy; and Lyon, France. Afterward, he carried out his PhD in Markus Heyl’s group at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, Germany, where he did research on nonequilibrium dynamics in lattice gauge theories. He's currently a postdoctoral fellow in Marcello Dalmonte’s group at ICTP. 

In his free time, he enjoys both road and mountain biking, as well as climbing.
