The ICTP-East African Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-EAIFR), ICTP's partner institute based at the University of Rwanda in Kigali, is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 academic year of its master's programme in physics. The application deadline is 31 March.
With the University of Rwanda, ICTP-EAIFR offers a two-year master's programme in physics with specializations in High Energy Physics, Condensed Matter Physics and Geophysics. The masters courses are designed around the ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Programme, with an extra first year meant to bring students from various countries to a uniform standard. The first year is common to all fields, while the second year is devoted to the specialized areas of the degree programme and culminates with a thesis. On successful completion, the student will be awarded an MSc from the University of Rwanda.
To be eligible the applicant must:
- Have either recently obtained a BSc degree or equivalent, or a higher degree, or they are in the process of completing such a degree.
- Have the main subject of the degree being physics or a closely related area.
- Be fluent in English (the language of instruction)
