The High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics group (HECAP) at ICTP has opened a new faculty staff position in theoretical high-energy physics. The section is particularly interested in physicists working in quantum field theory, string theory and related areas including quantum gravity, holography, and models of particle physics and cosmology. Outstanding candidates with an established track record of research should also be keen to contribute to ICTP's unique mission, to help build scientific capacity in developing countries.
The HECAP Section has approximately 35 members (faculty, postdocs, visitors, and graduate students), an intense program of conferences and workshops in Trieste and beyond, and close collaborations with the nearby institutions of SISSA, the University of Trieste, and the Italian National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN). Even though the focus of the search is in string theory and related areas, exceptional candidates working in broader areas of theoretical high energy physics, particle physics, and cosmology, are encouraged to apply.
Applications should be sent no later than 13 May 2017, through the UNESCO website:
https://unesco.taleo.net/careersection/2/joblist.ftl
Candidates should submit their CV, list of publications, a research statement, and any additional information to the ICTP Personnel Office at: personnel_office@ictp.it
Letters of recommendation will be requested after the deadline. Final selections will be made by an international panel of experts after interviews which will take place at the ICTP. More information about the position and the application can be found at the ICTP website:
