In a joint effort to encourage high school students to study
physics at university, ICTP and UNESCO are hosting a 'Meeting of
modern science and school physics: College for school teachers of
physics'. The main aim of the meeting is to bring together selected
teachers of physics from different countries and well-known
scientists from various fields of modern physics, to discuss new
advances in physics as well as modern science teaching
methodologies. The lectures will be carefully tuned to the level of
the audience.
Topics range from nanoscience and superconductivity to the physics
of cooking and sports. Fifty participants from 17 countries are
attending the course, which runs until 3 May.
