ICTP's High Energy, Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics section, along with SISSA (the International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste), will jointly organize a series of seminars on string theory in Trieste.
The series, known as the "String Seminars in Trieste", will be a monthly activity that brings together all theoretical physicists working on string theory and related topics in the Trieste area. The aim is to ensure that the physicists are up to date with the latest developments in the field.
Speakers for the seminars will be invited from institutes around the world. The inaugural seminar, to be held on 19 October 2011 in ICTP's Euler Lecture Hall, will feature Zohar Komargodski (Weizmann Institute of Sciences, Rehovot, Israel) whose talk is titled "On renormalization group flows in four dimensions", and Claudio Scrucca (ITPP, Lausanne, Switzerland), who will talk about "Sequestering in brane world supersymmetry breaking and its realization in string models".
A timetable for the forthcoming talks is available on the SISSA Website.
